Slough Borough Council - Allocations Officer
Are you an Allocations Officer looking for your next assignment? Slough Borough Council is currently on the lookout for an experienced Allocations Officer to join their team on a contract basis.
Job Duties:
*Administer and ensure compliance with the Council’s Allocations Scheme and Nominations Agreement, ensuring all housing legislation and regulations are adhered to.
*Oversee the housing allocation process, from reviewing housing register applications to matching properties to appropriate households.
*Make informed decisions on housing register applications, determining applicant status and band awards, and cross-reference with wider housing advice approaches.
*Coordinate the input of void and new build properties from Housing Associations, managing the direct matching process for specific groups such as those with medical needs, under-occupiers, and homeless individuals.
Candidate Requirements:
*Practical experience with housing allocation systems such as NEC (Northgate), Civica, and Jigsaw within the housing register context.
*Strong understanding of housing legislation, regulations, and the housing allocation process.
*Excellent communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid working environment.
