I am recruiting for an Assistant Accountant for a well – known manufacturer based in Lancaster. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and motivated finance professional to play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager and wider team, gaining exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
*Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
*Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
*Support budgeting and forecasting processes
*Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
*Assist with accruals, prepayments, and journal postings
*Support audit processes and ensure compliance with financial regulations
*Analyse production costs and contribute to cost control initiatives
*Assist with VAT returns and statutory reporting
About You
*AAT qualified or part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
*Previous experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within manufacturing or a similar environment
*Strong Excel skills and good knowledge of accounting systems
*High attention to detail with strong analytical skills
*Proactive, organised, and able to meet deadlines
*A team player with strong communication skills
