Commercial HR Manager
Location: Cheltenham
Salary: 40-55k + Bonus + Benefits
Type: permanent on-site
Reporting to: HR Director / Managing Director
We are seeking a commercially driven HR Manager to work with senior leadership, and drive people strategies that directly support business performance and growth. This is a high-impact role where you will combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, ensuring that HR initiatives are aligned with commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
*Partner with senior stakeholders to align HR strategy with business goals and commercial priorities
*Manage the full recruitment life-cycle: drafting job adverts, short-listing, interviewing, and making offers
*Implement simple, consistent performance reviews. Drive performance management processes that enhance accountability and results, avoiding complex or bureaucratic performance processes
*Lead initiatives to improve employee engagement, retention, and productivity
*Support business growth through effective recruitment, talent development strategies and promote the company culture
*Manage employee relations issues with a pragmatic, commercially focused approach
*Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies
*Lead and deliver HR projects, including change management and transformation initiatives
Key requirements
*Bachelor degree in a UK university in business management, finance or STEM subject
*Proven experience in an HR Manager role within a commercial environment
*Commercial acumen: Understand the business model, P&L drivers, and financial goals. Measure HR success through outputs, such as high-performing hires, and KPIs like employee productivity, time-to-hire and retention, rather than just activity counts.
*Can build long-term talent strategies, while able to "get your hands dirty" with daily HR administrative tasks, such as payroll, performance reviews and on-boarding.
*Can adapt quickly and implement processes in a fast-moving, technical and often informal environment.
*Set high standards for hiring high quality members are, while maintaining the performance-driven culture that retains them.
*Pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset with high levels of resilience and accountability
*Must have the permanent right to work in the UK.
