ASD Support Assistant – Doncaster SEN School
Position: ASD Specialist Teaching Assistant
Location: Doncaster
Contract: Part-Time or Full-time, long-term
Start: ASAP
Salary: £95–£115 per day (DOE)
About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, patient and emotionally intelligent ASC Specialist TA to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition. Many pupils experience sensory sensitivities, anxiety around transitions, and communication differences. You will play a key role in helping them feel safe, regulated and understood.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASC
*Use structured routines, visual aids and clear communication
*Support sensory regulation and reduce anxiety triggers
*Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement
*Work closely with teachers, SENCO and therapy teams
What We’re Looking For
*Experience supporting children with ASC or additional needs
*Calm, patient approach with strong emotional intelligence
*Understanding of sensory needs and communication differences
*Ability to use proactive and positive support strategies
