You will be joining Solihull Council on an initial 6 month contract, supporting a highly professional and collaborative service that plays a vital role in the smooth running of council operations. The team provides administrative, HR, and business support across a wide range of functions, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and in line with organisational standards. Your new role
As an Admin, HR & Business Support Officer, you will take on a varied and dynamic workload covering administrative, organisational, and occasional PA responsibilities. Your duties will include compiling and proofreading reports, monitoring finance logs, scheduling appointments, managing diaries, tracking incoming queries, and responding promptly to ensure smooth workflow.You will be responsible for ensuring all written documentation aligns with the Council’s style guide, maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail across all tasks. The role also involves general administrative support, maintaining records, coordinating meetings, and providing ad-hoc PA support when required. This is a hybrid role with two days per week in the office-typically Tuesday plus a day of your choice-offering flexibility in how you structure the remainder of your working week.
What you’ll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need strong administrative experience, excellent written communication skills, and the ability to proofread and spot errors quickly. You should have confidence managing multiple tasks, scheduling appointments, and supporting senior staff with diary management.A high level of attention to detail is essential, as well as the ability to follow written style guidelines accurately. You will also need to be flexible in your working pattern, proactive in responding to queries, and comfortable monitoring finance logs and supporting HR-related administrative processes.
