Senior Quantity Surveyor
*Annual Salary: £65,000 to £85,000
*Location: Dorset, with site visits
*Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking a Surveyor with a strong background in quantity surveying and preferably, Civils or groundworks. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who is confident and capable of meeting challenging deadlines daily. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including financial reporting, site visits, and client correspondence.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Work within the Commercial team, reporting to the board as necessary.
*Conduct monthly reporting and financial analysis of site activities.
*Perform periodic site visits, typically once per week.
*Discuss site activities with construction teams and submit variations to the client.
*Handle client correspondence, focusing on commercial and contractual matters.
*Measure and quantify from both drawings and site visits.
*Produce Bills of Quantities and cost breakdowns.
*Compile and submit monthly applications.
*Participate in the estimating process as needed.
*Communicate commercial information to other departments.
*Attend client meetings, sometimes alongside Senior Management.
*Form and submit subcontractor enquiries.
*Check and approve subcontractor invoices.
*Perform general administrative duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Ideally experienced in Groundworks, Civils or Residential groundworks
*Strong commercial acumen.
*Proficiency in numeracy and literacy.
*Efficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe.
*Full clean UK driving licence.
*Excellent interpersonal skills, able to maintain good working relationships with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
*Ability to adhere to strict deadlines while being self-motivated.
