English Teacher (QTS) - BasingstokeProspero Teaching is seeking a committed and inspiring Qualified English Teacher to join a secondary school in the Basingstoke area. This is a fantastic short-term opportunity for a passionate practitioner who is ready for a new challenge and keen to make a strong impact within a supportive English department.
The role begins immediately after the Easter break and will continue until the end of the academic year, offering stability, consistent teaching responsibilities, and a chance to work with engaged pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4.
The Role:*Teach English Language and English Literature across KS3-KS4
*Deliver well-planned, engaging lessons with full teaching responsibilities
*Mark work, assess progress, and provide meaningful feedback
*Support a range of learners and help drive progress across the department
*Create a positive, well-managed classroom environment
*Engage with departmental planning and collaboration
Ideal Candidate:*Holds QTS/QTLS (essential)
*Strong subject knowledge and confidence teaching English at KS3 & KS4
*Experience delivering GCSE English (any exam board)
*A proactive classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management
*Positive, organised, and committed to high standards
*Suitable for both experienced teachers and strong ECTs
Contract Details:*Position: English Teacher (QTS)
*Location: Basingstoke
*Start Date:After Easter holidays
*Contract: Full-time, until the end of the academic year
*Salary:£32,916 - £51,047 per annum
*Key Stages: KS3-KS4
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:*QTS/QTLS required
*Secondary English teaching experience preferred
*Safeguarding training required (can be provided)
Eligibility:*Right to work in the UK
*Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
*Two relevant teaching references
