Job Description:
Assistant Accountant
Nigel Wright are currently supporting a Northumberland based business with their Assistant Accountant requirement. This is a 9 month fixed term agreement.
The Role
As Assistant Accountant, your role includes:
*VAT returns, bank reconciliations, journals and month-end support.
*Prepare and review P&L and balance sheet
*Manage intercompany invoicing and journals
*Support invoice financing processes and supplier payment runs.
*Provide efficient audit support
The Candidate
Ideally you will have:
*Strong accounting knowledge
*Confident handling VAT, journals, reconciliations and month-end activities
*Experience with intercompany accounting and basic P&L/balance sheet understanding.
*Proactive, problem-solving mindset
*Reliable, organised and able to manage competing tasks efficiently.
*Positive attitude, willing to take ownership
*Flexible and adaptable in a changing environment (shared service transition).
*Ideally AAT qualified / studying ACCA (not essential), but solid practical experience is key.
