Job Description:
Role Purpose
The Business Project Manager leads strategic transformation initiatives that enhance operational performance, efficiency, and quality. Working across the organisation, they design, implement, and embed scalable solutions that improve customer outcomes and support long-term strategy. The role requires strong experience delivering transformation projects in small to mid-sized organisations operating in the UK, Europe, and North America.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
*Develop Project Briefs and translate them into fully scoped plans.
*Initiate projects in line with defined scope, timelines, quality standards, and budgets.
*Identify risks, dependencies, and constraints, implementing mitigation strategies.
*Coordinate delivery using structured workstreams, action logs, governance packs, and MS Planner.
*Manage stage gates with effective stakeholder engagement and approvals.
*Ensure project deliverables meet required quality criteria.
*Lead transition of outputs into business teams using change methodologies (e.g. ADKAR) to ensure adoption and benefits realisation.
*Complete project close-down, capturing lessons learned and supporting continuous improvement.
Business Transformation
*Deliver initiatives aligned to organisational strategy.
*Embed TQM and continuous improvement principles.
*Analyse current operations to identify inefficiencies and optimisation opportunities.
*Design and deploy customer-centric solutions that deliver long-term benefits.
*Establish KPIs, dashboards, and governance frameworks for programme oversight.
*Support the implementation of PPM tools across a £60m sales channel serving Tier 1 international logistics customers.
Stakeholder & Team Leadership
*Work closely with design services, operations, IT, finance, commercial, customer service, and other teams.
*Facilitate change management to support new ways of working.
*Promote continuous improvement, accountability, and data-driven decision-making.
*Coach junior Project Managers and support the growth of PPM capability.
*Champion the development and maturity of project and programme management disciplines.
Skills & Experience
*Proven experience delivering business transformation in small to mid-sized organisations.
*Strong understanding of UK, European, and North American markets.
*Ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver strategic outcomes.
*Experience embedding TQM, Lean, or similar improvement methodologies.
*Strong analytical skills and ability to design scalable optimised solutions.
*Excellent stakeholder management and influencing capability.
*Proficiency with MS Project, MS Planner, and PPM platforms.
*Expertise in risk management, governance, and reporting.
*Strong written and verbal communication skills.
*Relevant professional qualifications (PRINCE2, APM, PMP).
*Experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations-focused industries.
*Knowledge of change management frameworks (e.g. ADKAR).
*Experience supporting large-scale or multi-million-pound transformation programmes.
