Hays Accountancy & Finance are proud to be working exclusively with an outstanding business based in Chesterfield for an URGENT START finance role.
We’re looking for a detail-oriented individual to join a well-established small finance team, supporting a range of routine financial tasks including invoice processing, ledger maintenance, and general record-keeping. This role involves being a key contact for internal staff, clients, and vendors regarding financial matters, while also overseeing specific areas of the department’s operations. You’ll collaborate closely with the team lead to ensure financial data is recorded accurately and submitted on time.
Your new role
Key focus on transactional finance: accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit control.
Day to day duties will include:
Handling incoming and outgoing invoices and credit notes
Communicating with suppliers to resolve queries efficiently
Reconciling statements from both customers and suppliers
Coordinating regular and ad hoc payment runs
Managing bank transactions and reconciliations
Overseeing cashflow, petty cash, and company credit card usage
Processing staff expenses
Contributing to the preparation of monthly financial reports
Supporting other delegated finance tasks as needed
What you’ll need to succeed
You ideally have exposure to Microsoft Navision
Confident with the use of Excel
Studying or completing an AAT qualification
Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business
Ability to support the Head of Finance & Assistant Accountant and work confidently across various finance tasks
