Job Description:
Head of Regeneration
*Daily Rate: £600–£700
*Location: Sheffield, Howden House
*Contract: 4-6 months
*Working Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)
Sheffield City Council are seeking an Interim Head of Regeneration to provide senior leadership and oversight for major regeneration programmes funded through initiatives like the Levelling Up Fund and Towns Fund. This role is crucial for driving the successful delivery of high-profile schemes and achieving significant regeneration outcomes for the city.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Leadership & Management:
*Lead a diverse team of approximately 8 regeneration professionals.
*Provide strategic direction, coaching, and performance management.
*Maintain a strong presence both in the office and on project sites.
*Programme & Project Oversight:
*Offer strategic client-side leadership across various complex regeneration schemes.
*Ensure alignment of project delivery with strategic objectives and funding commitments.
*Oversee on-site progress, resolve issues, and maintain momentum across projects.
*Coordinate with the Capital Delivery team for technical delivery aspects.
*Manage assurance, risk, and performance reporting.
*Stakeholder & Political Engagement:
*Develop and maintain relationships with MPs, community groups, business stakeholders, and partners like Homes England.
*Navigate the political environment effectively, ensuring transparent communication.
*Represent the Council and Regeneration service in high-profile external meetings and boards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven leadership in regeneration schemes funded by government programmes such as the Levelling Up Fund and Towns Fund.
*Strong capabilities in stakeholder and political management.
*Experience in overseeing complex development agreements.
*Background in physical regeneration, property development, or surveying.
*Demonstrated ability to provide on-site leadership and maintain a regular presence in Sheffield.
*Skilled in navigating complex partnerships and delivery environments.
