Job Description:
The Divisional Director will lead and oversee multi-site operations, ensuring ongoing manufacturing excellence, strategic alignment with group and growth across the region. This role requires strong leadership and operational expertise to drive success in a specialist manufacturing sector.
Client Details
This is a senior divisional leadership role within a large multi-national organisation transitioning from a location-based structure to a product led divisional operating model. The company is well-established and known for its commitment to innovative solutions and operational excellence within its specialist markets.
Description
· P&L responsibility for a multi-site specialist manufacturing division of c£50m turnover and 200 heads.
· Develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth and operational efficiency for the division.
· Oversee and manage the manufacturing operations to ensure high-quality output and compliance with industry standards.
· Ensure ongoing operational excellence and development for a market dominant product, whilst developing and growing a product range in a niche sector where the company is currently less dominant.
· Foster relationships with external customers and internal stakeholders to drive business development and growth.
· Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities within the sector.
· Collaborate with cross-divisional teams to ensure seamless execution of projects and initiatives.
· Manage budgets effectively to achieve financial targets and ensure sustainable operations.
· Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and promote a culture of safety and compliance.
Profile
A successful Divisional Director should have:
· P&L responsibility for a multi-site specialist manufacturing business / division.
· A background in chemicals, coatings, inks, or a comparable process-based industry.
· Proven experience in strategic planning and operational management.
· Experience developing and growing a new product line.
· Knowledge and experience of batch and process manufacturing.
· Experience working and leading in a matrix structure as part of a larger corporate business.
· Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide teams towards achieving objectives.
· Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
· Knowledge and passion for Industry 4.0 and the development / implementation of AI tools for manufacturing.
· A results-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
