Python Developer - (Python / React) - Remote


Python Developer with strong Python (Flask Framework), React, and AWS experience is needed for one of our clients, an independent, research-tech startup that is transforming how the world evaluates and trusts academic research.


This is a great opportunity for any experienced Python Developer looking to work in a high-growth, greenfield-leaning environment, or for someone ready to step up and take ownership of engineering delivery across modern cloud-native platforms.
You’ll be working closely with the Lead Engineers / Senior Engineers, helping drive innovation across backend, frontend, DevOps, and data engineering initiatives.


The role is fully remote, with the odd meet up in London


Key Skills Required


*Python (Flask)
*React / TypeScript
*Comfort working in AWS environments, ideally with EKS / Kubernetes
*Strong Git-based development workflows
*Experience delivering features end-to-end in distributed teams
*Confident troubleshooting production issues in real time


Desirable Skills
*Apache Spark (EMR) & Delta Lake
*PostgreSQL (Aurora)
*CI/CD using GitHub Actions
*IaC (Helm, CloudFormation)
*Monitoring tools (Sentry)
Role Responsibilities
You’ll be hands-on in a broad, impactful role:
*Backend development using Python / Flask
*Maintain and expand the TypeScript / React frontend
*Build and maintain Dockerised microservices deployed to AWS (EKS)
*Troubleshoot and optimise performance across the stack
*Support data ingestion and transformation pipelines (Spark-based)
*Work cross-functionally with product and data specialists
*Help shape new features and influence engineering standards


This role is 100% hands-on engineering, with the autonomy to take ownership of your domain
