Learning Support Assistant
Location: Newham, London
Contract Type:Full-time
About the Role
We are seeking a committed and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive and dynamic secondary school in Newham. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting students with additional learning needs and helping them to thrive both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)
*Work closely with teachers to adapt lessons and resources to meet individual needs
*Support students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
*Help students develop confidence, independence, and social skills
*Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff
*Assist in managing behaviour in line with school policies
*Contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
About You
*A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Patience, empathy, and resilience
*Good organisational skills and attention to detail
*Ability to work effectively as part of a team
*Previous experience working with young people or in a school setting is desirable but not essential
