An organisation is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join its finance function on a 6-month contract. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to management accounts, stakeholder engagement and ongoing process improvements.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and variance analysis
*Posting journals and assisting with month-end processes
*Engaging with stakeholders to provide financial information and support decision-making
*Reviewing and improving finance processes, particularly in preparation for system enhancements
*Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc accounting tasks
The successful candidate will have:
*Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role
*Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
*Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships with non-finance stakeholders
*A proactive approach and willingness to support across a small team
*Ideally some exposure to sectors such as housing, asset management or service charges (desirable)
