Job Description:
Advertising and Sponsorship Officer
*Location: Sheffield, S1 (Hybrid working available)
*Job Type: Full-time, 12-month interim contract
*Salary: £22.20 per hour PAYE
We are recruiting for Sheffield City Council who are looking for a proactive and people-focused Advertising and Sponsorship Officer to join their Communications Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape partnerships, drive income, and help tell Sheffield’s story, creating real impact across our city.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Generate revenue across a diverse estate, including digital platforms (website, intranet, social media, bulk email) and physical media (outdoor, publications, filming opportunities).
*Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to identify new commercial opportunities.
*Ensure all advertising and sponsorship activities align with Council policies, procurement, and priorities.
*Manage advertising activities end-to-end, collaborating with design and web teams.
*Monitor, report, and forecast revenue to ensure targets are met.
*Support the development of advertising and sponsorship policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience in advertising, sponsorship, or sales with a proven track record of generating revenue and meeting targets.
*Strategic thinker with strong planning skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
*Excellent relationship-building skills, adaptable and people-focused.
*Financial acumen with experience in forecasting, tracking, and reporting.
*Resilient and calm under pressure, with a target-driven approach.
*Strong written communication skills for sales, promotion, and stakeholder liaison.
*Detail-oriented, ensuring compliance with policy and legislation.
*Analytical skills, confident in interpreting data and complex information.
*Understanding of local government issues and constraints.
*Familiarity with advertising and sponsorship codes (e.g., CAP Code).
*Local knowledge of Sheffield or willingness to develop this quickly.
