Job Advert: Mobile Cleaning Operative – Reactive Specialist Cleaning
Location: Birmingham / Wolverhampton / Coventry (ideal base: Birmingham)
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Contracted Hours: 35 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 3 days on – 3 days off (including weekends)
Salary: £13.00 – £17.50 per hour (dependent on shift type and operational duties)
About the Role
We are seeking a Mobile Cleaning Operative to undertake reactive specialist cleaning and decontamination across multiple sites within the West Midlands. This includes attendance to facilities, vehicles, and locations requiring urgent hygiene, sanitation, or biohazard support.
This is a reactive on-call position, and during your 3 working days, you must be fully available 24/7 to respond to callouts as they arise. The role requires professionalism, resilience, and the ability to work independently across diverse and occasionally challenging environments.
Pay Rates
*£13.00 per hour – Day rate (06:00–22:00 travel hours)
*£14.00 per hour – Night rate (22:00–06:00 travel hours)
*£17.50 per hour – Biohazard Rate 1 (bodily fluids)
*£17.50 per hour – Biohazard Rate 2 (crime scenes)
A company vehicle, fuel card, PPE, equipment, materials, and mobile device are provided.
Key Responsibilities
*Carry out general and specialist cleaning, including biohazard and trauma-related tasks.
*Respond promptly to reactive callouts and ensure work is completed to high standards.
*Maintain clean, safe, and compliant environments across multiple sites.
*Follow strict Health & Safety guidelines, site protocols, and security procedures.
*Record all work accurately via the company mobile device.
Essential Requirements
*Valid UK Driving Licence (Category B).
*Flexibility to work a 3-on, 3-off pattern and be fully available for 24-hour callouts on working days.
*Willingness and confidence to undertake Level 2 Vetting (funded by the employer).
*Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive or challenging situations.
*Reliable, resilient, and able to work independently across various locations.
