Technical Coordinator


Salary – £38,940 - £41,500
Hours – Full-time
Location & Postcode – Knottingley / Ecclesfield / Blackburn Meadows (site-based role)


As a Technical Coordinator at FCC Environment, you will manage and undertake, with a small team, the technical assessment of enquiries. This includes negotiating with customers and third-party disposers, preparing transportation documentation, collating site records and producing accurate data for invoicing, ensuring all activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.


This vacancy is for a full-time position, working Monday to Friday.

What will you be doing?


- Undertake technical assessments of sales enquiries in line with legal and regulatory requirements
- Interpret waste data to determine composition, classification and safe handling and disposal routes
- Liaise and negotiate with customers and third-party disposers to obtain quotations and agree on pricing
- Prepare transport and waste documentation to support compliant waste movements
- Ensure compliance with planning consents and Environmental Permits at Knostrop, Ecclesfield, Knottingley and Blackburn Meadows
- Support the Technical Manager and Operations Managers to ensure full SHEQ compliance
- Produce accurate and timely data to support invoicing and sales monitoring
- Assist with transport administration, including vehicle compliance, documentation and liaison with drivers
- Train and mentor new starters as required


What are we looking for?


- Degree in chemistry or a related subject
- Experience within the hazardous waste treatment or chemical industry
- DGSA qualification (or willingness to achieve)
- COTC in Hazardous Treatment is desirable
- Strong IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office
- Transport administration experience or CPC in Road Haulage Operations is desirable
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex technical information
- Customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills
- A clean full driving licence is an advantage
