Nights Operations Manager - WarwickFull-time | Permanent | Night Shift
We are recruiting a hands-on and proactive Nights Operations Manager to lead night-shift warehouse operations at a busy distribution site in Warwick. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership experience in a warehousing, logistics, or distribution environment, with the ability to manage fast-paced operational activity through the night.
Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse Operations Management*Oversee all night-shift warehouse activities including goods-in, goods-out, loading, unloading, picking, consolidation, and despatch.
*Ensure efficient flow of freight through the warehouse and maintain high accuracy standards.
*Monitor operational KPIs such as throughput, accuracy, loading performance, and service levels.
People Leadership*Manage a team of warehouse operatives, team leaders, and support staff during night hours.
*Lead daily briefings, allocate tasks, and manage shift performance.
*Handle staffing levels, overtime planning, absence management, and training needs.
*Build a positive, safe, and high-performing team culture.
Health, Safety & Compliance*Ensure all H&S procedures, warehouse safety protocols, and company standards are consistently adhered to.
*Conduct or support incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
*Maintain compliance with manual handling, equipment checks, PPE requirements, and site SOPs.
Service Delivery & Communication*Ensure all outbound loads are prepared, checked, and dispatched correctly and on time.
*Act as the main point of contact for night operational queries.
*Provide accurate and clear handovers to the day operations team.
Continuous Improvement*Identify bottlenecks and implement operational improvements to boost productivity and reduce waste.
*Support warehouse optimisation projects, layout improvements, and process enhancements.
*Contribute to ongoing cost control and efficiency initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required*Experience in warehouse or distribution centre operations (night shift experience desirable).
*Strong people leadership skills within a fast-paced operational environment.
*Good understanding of H&S standards and warehouse best practice.
*Ability to make quick, effective decisions and lead teams through busy periods.
*IT literacy (WMS experience advantageous).
*A hands-on, solution-focused approach.
