Chemical Process Operator
*Location: West Lothian
*Job Type: Permanent, full time, rotating continental 12-hour shifts
*Hours: 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am
*Salary: £31k basic salary with 30% shift allowance (£40,300 in total)
We are seeking a dedicated Chemical Process Operator to ensure the safe operation of our client’s manufacturing plant and equipment. This role requires adherence to safety and environmental rules, standard operating procedures, and a commitment to co-worker safety. The ideal candidate will have experience in the chemical or process industry and possess a strong sense of responsibility and teamwork.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Adhere to all site safety and environmental rules, procedures, and regulations.
*Maintain housekeeping standards within the manufacturing area and associated buildings.
*Operate all plant and associated equipment to achieve required production in line with standard operating procedures and the production plan.
*Ensure the quality of the finished product meets standards through proper process control and packaging.
*Conduct routine checks on plant and equipment, addressing and repairing faults as directed.
*Perform general manufacturing and operations tasks as instructed by the supervisor.
*Communicate effectively with supervisors, shift team members, and engineering personnel to ensure stable production.
*Assist in customer complaint testing and coordinate with logistics to prioritize testing to meet shipping deadlines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Minimum of five years of manufacturing experience in the chemical processing or process industry.
*Counterbalance Forklift license experience (certificate does not have to be in date)
*Basic IT skills and HSE awareness.
*HND / NVQ / GCSE / A-level in Applied Science or Applied Chemistry or equivalent.
*Strong communication and planning skills; ability to prioritize tasks.
*Team player and self-starter, able to work under minimum supervision with attention to detail.
