Job Description:
Financial Crime and Compliance (FC&C) department is responsible for ensuring that all financial crime and compliance risks within the Bank are identified, managed or mitigated. It establishes and maintains the Bank’s regulatory communications, compliance risk management, regulatory reporting and compliance advisory. As a Senior Officer - Compliance Advisory, you will be assisting the Regulatory Compliance (Wholesale) team by providing advisory, guidance, oversight and effective challenge across key public and private side business areas including Global Financial Markets, the London Trading Centre, Financial Markets Middle Office, Debt Capital Markets Centre, EMEA Syndications Centre and Research departments. This is a full time permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
*Support the team in providing day-to-day compliance advisory support to first line of defence (1LoD) on products and services including FX Spot, Derivatives, Money Markets, Fixed Income Trading and Sales, Primary Bond Issuance and Syndicated Lending
*Support the team in performing risk assessments and gap analysis, such as RCSA reviews, providing expert advice on risk ratings and challenging the adequacy and effectiveness of controls required to mitigate regulatory compliance and conduct risk
*Support with the investigation of potential or actual breaches of relevant rules and regulations, assist in reporting to Senior Management and support remediation efforts
*Assist with scanning for regulatory developments and support the business with implementation
*Assist with timely record keeping and archive management
*Support in the design and implementation of compliance-related policies and procedures as required in order to meet the requirements of new/updated regulations/legislations and embed these within the Bank
*Respond to requests for advice from business units, support departments and positively provide the appropriate level of support to resolve the matter being referred
*Support the team at departmental meetings, including project and product launches, providing support, guidance, check and challenge and present possible solutions
*Participate in the planning, preparation and delivery of compliance-related training and provide support to all staff in system-related issues
Requirements
*Degree educated in Finance, Law, Banking or other relevant subjects
*Demonstrated experience in providing advisory support to Global Markets or Corporates businesses within the banking industry, and/or experience working in a control room environment including management of information barriers, wall crossing procedures and market abuse oversight
*Good FCA Handbook knowledge including COBS/MAR/SYSC
*Knowledge of UK MiFID/MiFIR
*Able to work collaboratively and build relationships with people at all levels of the organisation
*Solution oriented
*Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
*Highly organised
