Payroll Specialist (Standalone)

Orka Financial is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to take full ownership of the UK payroll function in a standalone role to join their clients going business based in West Thurrock. This position will manage both weekly and monthly payrolls using Sage Payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:*Manage the full UK payroll cycle for weekly and monthly payrolls using Sage Payroll
*Take full responsibility for the payroll function, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations
*Process salaries, wages, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc.) accurately
*Act as the first point of contact for all payroll-related queries
*Manage PAYE, National Insurance contributions, and ensure timely payments to HMRC
*Maintain accurate payroll records and handle year-end processes
*Reconcile payroll figures with HMRC liabilities and resolve discrepancies
*Work closely with the wider finance team to ensure smooth operations
Requirements:*Proven experience in a standalone UK payroll role
*Strong working knowledge of Sage Payroll
*Experience managing both weekly and monthly payrolls
*Up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation
*High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
*Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
