Description
*Conduct detailed credit assessments for commodity trading counterparties, including financial statement analysis and review of market/sector intelligence.
*Monitor and manage credit exposures and counterparty limits in line with internal policies and industry best-practice risk standards.
*Prepare comprehensive credit reports, limit proposals, and risk recommendations for senior management and credit committees.
*Collaborate closely with traders, risk managers, operations, and treasury teams to ensure consistent application of credit policy across physical and derivatives products.
*Stay informed on commodity market dynamics, regulatory developments, and geopolitical factors influencing counterparty credit quality.
Profile
A successful Credit Risk Analyst should have:
*Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. Professional qualifications (e.g., CFA) are a bonus.
*3+ years of experience in credit risk analysis within commodities.
*A solid foundational understanding of physical and derivatives markets, including exposure to energy or raw materials trading.
*Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
