We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading international law firm, for a Commercial Projects Solicitor to join their highly regarded Projects & Infrastructure team in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile domestic and international projects while being part of a collaborative and award-winning legal team.
As a Commercial Projects Solicitor, you will advise on a variety of UK-based energy, infrastructure, and defence projects. The role involves working with government clients and sponsors/developers on all aspects of project development, including procurement, project contracts, construction arrangements, and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
*Advising on procurement processes and project structuring
*Supporting the negotiation and drafting of project agreements
*Providing guidance on construction, development, and operational arrangements
*Working closely with both public sector clients and private developers
*Typical matters may include major infrastructure developments, defence programmes, nuclear decommissioning projects, and PPP/PFI-related work.
About you:
The successful Commercial Projects Solicitor will be a qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE and experience in projects, infrastructure, or related areas.
You will ideally have:
*Experience advising on project documentation such as PPP/PFI agreements, PPAs, EPC contracts, and O&M agreements
*Familiarity with UK public procurement processes (PCR), though this is not essential
*Exposure to single source contracting (SSCR) would be advantageous
*Experience within government, energy, defence, or nuclear sectors (including in-house) is beneficial
*Strong project management and organisational skills
*An interest in contributing to business development activities
