Job Description:
A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a reliable, friendly, and proactive Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook to support a welcoming family in their Essex home. This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys what they do, takes pride in maintaining a tidy home, and is confident preparing simple, nutritious meals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing evening meals for the family, with an understanding of diabetic-friendly cooking being essential, as one family member requires this. Alongside cooking, the role will include light housekeeping duties to ensure the home remains clean, organised, and runs smoothly. The family is seeking someone punctual, dependable, and pleasant to have in the home, with a positive attitude and a proactive approach. This is a relaxed household, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently while maintaining high standards.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 4:00 pm – 7:30 pm, with flexibility required for occasional weekend work. If a weekend day is worked, a weekday will be given in lieu
DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
• Preparing healthy, balanced evening meals tailored to dietary requirements (including diabetic-friendly cooking)
• Kitchen clean-up following meal preparation
• Light housekeeping duties, including vacuuming, tidying, and dishwashing
• Occasional ironing and general household upkeep
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming home environment
• Taking initiative to support the smooth running of the household
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Proven experience in a similar Housekeeper/Cook role
• Confident in preparing nutritious meals, with knowledge of diabetic-friendly cooking
• Punctual, reliable, and organised
• Warm, friendly, and positive attitude
• Proactive and able to work independently
• Good attention to detail
• Fluent spoken English
