Job Description:
Head of Business Development | Luxury Interior Studio | London
The Client
Our client is an established and highly respected name within the luxury interior design world. Their work is defined by a deeply personal approach, each project is entirely bespoke, shaped around the lifestyles, tastes, and aspirations of an international clientele that includes private individuals, developers, and family offices.
With a portfolio spanning some of London’s most prestigious addresses as well as high-profile international projects, the studio has built a reputation not only for beautiful, timeless interiors, but for discretion, trust, and long-standing client relationships. Their success to date has been driven as much by their ability to connect with the right clients as it has by their design capability.
As the business enters its next phase of growth, there is a clear ambition to broaden its reach, deepen its presence in key markets, and further cement its position as a go-to studio within the super-prime space. This hire will play a central role in that journey, bringing both strategic direction and hands-on delivery to the business development function.
The Role
This is a pivotal, high-impact role suited to someone who thrives in a relationship-led, design-driven environment and understands how to operate within the nuances of the luxury market. As Head of Business Development, you will act as both a strategist and a dealmaker, identifying where the most valuable opportunities lie, opening the right doors, and ultimately converting conversations into long-term partnerships.
You will work closely with senior leadership, including design and commercial stakeholders, giving you real visibility and influence across the business. Success in this role will come from building meaningful relationships, understanding the long-term value of each opportunity, and representing the studio with credibility and authenticity in every interaction. Whether hosting clients, attending international events, or shaping strategic initiatives, you will be instrumental in defining how the studio grows and who it grows with.
For someone commercially astute, well-connected, and motivated by working alongside a talented creative team, this role offers the opportunity to make a tangible and lasting impact within a highly regarded luxury brand.
Key Duties
*Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities across private residential and commercial development sectors
*Develop and execute strategic business development plans, including international trips and roadshows
*Build, manage, and convert a strong pipeline of high-value opportunities using CRM systems and data insights
*Lead end-to-end deal processes, including opportunity sourcing, commercial strategy, analysis, and negotiation
*Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with clients, developers, and key industry stakeholders
*Represent the studio at industry events, networking functions, and client engagements
*Collaborate with marketing to deliver targeted events and initiatives that enhance brand visibility
*Conduct market and industry analysis to inform business strategy and identify emerging opportunities
*Prepare and present annual business development strategies and pipeline forecasts to senior leadership
*Oversee the preparation of client briefs, proposals, and fee structures in collaboration with internal teams
*Ensure seamless handover of secured projects to the design team, maintaining clarity of client expectations
*Contribute to financial planning, including pipeline reporting and budgeting for travel and client engagement
What the Client Would Like to See (Essential)
*Proven track record in a senior business development role within luxury interiors, property, or a related high-end sector
*Strong commercial acumen with experience leading complex deal processes and negotiations
*Deep understanding of the UK and international prime property markets
*Demonstrated ability to build and maintain high-value client relationships
*Experience managing pipelines, CRM systems, and data-driven business development strategies
*Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
*Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities
*A proactive, driven, and self-motivated approach
What We Would Like to See (Bonus)
*Existing network within the luxury property, developer, B2B interiors or B2B furniture space
*Experience working with design-led or creative businesses
*Strong analytical skills, including financial modelling and business case development
*Exposure to international markets and cross-border deal-making
*A genuine passion for design, architecture, and the luxury lifestyle sector
*A collaborative mindset with a positive, engaging, and approachable personality
