Are you an Accounts Assistant looking for a varied role with real exposure across finance? Do you enjoy being hands-on in a collaborative environment?
We’re hiring an Accounts Assistant to support a Financial Controller within a growing engineering business delivering specialist installation projects. This is a broad, practical role with a strong focus on the sales ledger, alongside wider involvement across finance, admin, and reporting. You’ll be part of a small team, where flexibility and a willingness to get stuck in are key.
WISH LIST
*Experience managing or supporting a sales ledger
*Comfortable working across multiple systems (ideally Sage or similar)
*Proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership
THE ROLE
*Generate and issue sales invoices and credit notes
*Post and code transactions into the accounting system
*Maintain and reconcile the customer ledger
*Act as first point of contact for customer queries
*Set up and manage customer accounts and contract data
*Process expenses and credit card receipts
*Input weekly timesheets into internal systems
*Provide support across purchase ledger when needed
*Assist with subcontractor payments and invoice approvals
*Support audit queries and documentation requests
*Produce ad hoc reports and analysis for senior finance
*Contribute to process improvements across finance and admin
YOUR PROFILE
*Effective communicator – written & verbal
*Good working knowledge of MS Excel
*High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
*Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
