An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Legal to join a highly respected and forward-thinking organisation operating across multiple sectors. This is a senior leadership role within a dynamic legal function, responsible for shaping legal strategy, managing risk, and providing expert guidance on a wide range of complex legal and commercial matters.
Job Title: Head of Legal
Contract: 3 - 6 month contract
Location: Birmingham
Hourly rate: £700 - £900
Working Pattern: Hybrid, 3 days in office and 2 days WFH
Key Responsibilities
*Lead and manage the legal function, providing strategic direction and oversight across all legal matters.
* Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and the board on legal, regulatory, and governance issues.
* Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of complex commercial contracts and key business agreements.
* Develop and implement legal policies, processes, and risk management frameworks.
* Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance requirements.
* Manage and mitigate legal risk, supporting business decision-making at a strategic level.
* Oversee dispute resolution matters and manage relationships with external legal counsel.
* Lead, mentor, and develop the legal team, fostering a high-performance culture.
* Stay abreast of legal and regulatory developments, advising the business on potential impacts.
* Collaborate cross-functionally to support strategic initiatives, transactions, and business growth.
