THE ROLE:
An established criminal defence firm is seeking a Duty Solicitor or Higher Court Advocate to join its growing team. The role will involve managing a broad caseload of criminal matters, including attending police stations and courts, advising clients and representing them throughout proceedings. You will handle cases from initial instruction through to conclusion, including preparation for hearings and, where applicable, conducting advocacy in the Higher Courts. The position offers exposure to a wide range of work and the opportunity to play a key role within a busy and well regarded practice. You will also be expected to maintain high standards of client care and contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the team.
THE CANDIDATE:
You will be a qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 1 year’s PQE in criminal law, holding Duty Solicitor status or Higher Court Advocacy rights. You will have experience managing your own caseload and be confident advising and representing clients in a range of criminal matters. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and advocacy skills, along with the ability to work effectively under pressure. You will be well organised, proactive in your approach and committed to delivering a high standard of legal service. A team-oriented mindset and a professional approach are essential.
