Relationship Director – Real Estate Finance (SME)
Location: Cambridge, Peterborough & Milton Keynes (Hybrid – 2 days office/client-facing)
Salary: £100,000 – £130,000 + 20–30% bonus
The Opportunity
A leading UK banking group is looking to hire an experienced Relationship Director to join its well-established Real Estate Finance team.
This is a senior, client-facing role with a strong balance of portfolio management and new business. You’ll work closely with SME property developers and investors, helping them secure funding, grow their portfolios, and navigate opportunities across both development and investment finance.
The lending proposition is highly competitive, giving you a strong platform to win and retain business.
The Role*Manage a portfolio of ~35–40 SME real estate clients across your region
*Act as the primary point of contact, building long-term, trusted relationships
*Structure and deliver lending solutions across development and investment deals
*Write and present credit papers in line with internal policy
*Drive portfolio growth in line with annual target
*Balance client management (70%) with new business development (30%)
*Generate new opportunities through networking, referrals, and market presence
*Work closely with credit and product teams to get deals over the line
*Represent the bank within the local property and professional network
About You*Proven experience in real estate finance, commercial banking, or property lending
*Strong track record of managing and growing client portfolios
*Confident structuring deals and working closely with credit teams
*Commercially driven, with a proactive approach to winning new business
*Well-connected within the property or professional services sector (advantageous)
*Resourceful, dynamic, and comfortable operating with autonomy
