About the role:


Our client a fashion business is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant. You will play a key
role in supporting the financial operations of the business, ensuring accurate reporting and
driving financial insights that help shape commercial decisions. You will work closely with cross
functional senior teams including Merchandising, Operations, Marketing plus the Senior
Leadership team and Founder to support financial planning, analysis, and reporting.


Reporting to the Finance Director


Key responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journals, ledgers and
reconciliations.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate
processing of invoices and payments.
Working closely with the Senior Leadership team to produce regular management
accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
Assist in weekly trade reporting, plus monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycles.
Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
Support financial modelling for new initiatives, product launches and commercial
strategies.
Ensure robust internal controls and compliance with accounting standards and company
policies.
Prepare documentation for audits and liaise with external accountants as required.
Monitor and report on key financial KPIs and performance metrics.
Assist with cash flow tracking, forecasting and bank reconciliations.
Maintain accurate inventory financial records and support stock valuation reviews.


About you:
Previous experience in accounting, finance or business analysis, ideally within retail,
beauty or the fashion industry.
A sound and robust understanding of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience using accounting software, knowledge of
Xero an advantage.
Good communication skills to explain financial insights clearly to non-financial
colleagues.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross
functionally in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Self-starter, highly motivated with a positive attitude and team player mentality.
