Graduate Remediation Engineer
Location: Kent, UK
Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 + Benefits
The Role
We are looking for an ambitious Graduate Remediation Engineer to join a well-established environmental consultancy in Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to kick-start their career in land remediation and contaminated land management, working on a wide range of brownfield and infrastructure projects across the UK.
You will gain hands-on experience supporting the design and delivery of remediation strategies, working alongside experienced engineers and environmental specialists.
Key Responsibilities
*Assist in the design and implementation of remediation strategies for contaminated land
*Support site investigations, including soil and groundwater sampling
*Interpret environmental data and contribute to risk assessments
*Help prepare remediation method statements and validation reports
*Monitor remediation works on-site, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations
*Liaise with contractors, clients, and regulatory bodies
*Maintain accurate site records and technical documentation
*Support project delivery to ensure work is completed on time and within budget
Requirements
*Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
*Strong interest in contaminated land and remediation
*Good understanding of environmental legislation and risk assessment principles
*Excellent communication and organisational skills
*Willingness to travel to sites across Kent and the South East
*Full UK driving licence (or working towards it)
Desirable
*Previous internship or placement in geoenvironmental or remediation projects
*Knowledge of Phase I/II site investigations
*Familiarity with soil and groundwater sampling techniques
*Working towards or interest in chartered status (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, or Geological Society)
