Location: Oxford, UK
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
The Role
We are seeking a motivated Geoscientist to join our growing team in Oxford. This role will focus on seismic data processing, interpretation, and analysis, supporting a range of subsurface and energy-related projects.
You will play a key role in transforming raw geophysical data into meaningful insights, contributing to high-quality project delivery across a variety of sectors including energy, infrastructure, and environmental applications.
Key Responsibilities
*Process and analyse 2D and 3D seismic datasets using industry-standard software
*Apply advanced signal processing techniques to enhance data quality
*Perform velocity modelling, migration, and inversion workflows
*Interpret seismic data to support subsurface modelling and decision-making
*Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and engineers on multidisciplinary projects
*Ensure data quality control and adherence to project specifications
*Produce technical reports, visualisations, and client-ready deliverables
*Support continuous improvement of internal workflows and processing techniques
Requirements
*Degree in Geophysics, Geoscience, Earth Science, or a related field
*2-5 years’ experience in seismic data processing (industry or consultancy)
*Strong understanding of seismic acquisition and processing workflows
*Experience with software such as Petrel, Kingdom, ProMAX, or similar
*Knowledge of velocity analysis, stacking, migration, and inversion techniques
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
*Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
*Excellent communication and report-writing skills
Desirable
*Experience working on UK or international energy projects
*Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, or other data processing tools
*Understanding of geological modelling and interpretation
*Experience with marine or land seismic data
