Job Description:
Forge Inspector
Location: Livingston
Salary: £31,991 + £7,997 shift allowance (Total £39,989)
Hours: 37 per week (3-shift rotation)
We are recruiting for a Forge Inspector on behalf of a leading manufacturing client. This role is key to ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency across forging and inspection operations.
Key Responsibilities:
*Inspect forged components, dies, and machined parts
*Carry out hot and black forge inspections
*Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
*Use precision measuring equipment and perform numerical calculations
*Support production targets, quality standards, and continuous improvement
*Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and safe systems of work
*Work flexibly across multiple inspection areas as required
Requirements:
*Time-served engineer (HNC or equivalent)
*Strong numerical and problem-solving skills
*Experience in quality inspection and manufacturing environments
*Knowledge of safe working practices and quality systems
*Ability to work shifts and adapt to business needs
Desirable:
*Experience reading technical drawings and using inspection tools
