Job Advert: SEN / EYFS Class Teacher
A nurturing and inclusive primary school in Skelmersdale (WN8) is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN / EYFS Teacher to join their team from 13th April 2026. This full-time, fixed-term position runs for the remainder of the academic year and offers a rewarding opportunity to support young learners at a crucial stage in their development.

About the Role:
You will take responsibility for teaching within the Early Years Foundation Stage, working closely with pupils who have Special Educational Needs (SEN). The role involves planning and delivering engaging, play-based learning experiences tailored to individual development needs.
You will be supported by skilled teaching assistants, SEN specialists, and a welcoming senior leadership team who prioritise wellbeing, inclusion, and high-quality early education.


Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver creative, inclusive, and differentiated EYFS lessons
• Support pupils with SEN through personalised strategies and targeted interventions
• Track, assess, and record pupil progress in line with EYFS and SEN frameworks
• Build strong, nurturing relationships with pupils to support their emotional and social development
• Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and external professionals
• Maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers
• Uphold the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies


Essential Requirements:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or EYTS
• Recent experience teaching in EYFS and/or supporting children with SEN
• Strong understanding of EYFS curriculum and early child development
• Knowledge of strategies for supporting a range of additional needs (e.g. ASD, speech and language delays, SEMH)
• A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to behaviour and pastoral care
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A commitment to inclusive education and promoting the welfare of all pupils

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
