Job Description:
** IPSWICH ROLE **
I am working closely with a leading insurer to hire a Reserving Analyst in their Reserving Actuarial team.
You will provide high-quality actuarial analysis, enhance methodologies, and support quarterly reserve reviews and monthly performance reporting.
The Role - *Support estimation of current and future loss ratios
*Assist in assessing product profitability and line performance
*Deliver analysis to inform strategic initiatives and decision-making
*Validate and reconcile MI data for actuarial reporting
*Contribute to process improvements and methodological enhancements
*Support audit activity, ensuring strong controls and compliance
*Build effective relationships with SBUs, Finance, MI, Claims and Strategy teams
The Candidate - *Progressing with actuarial qualifications (trainee, part-qualified or near-qualified), or relevant insurance/financial experience
*Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
*Understanding of reserving principles and insurance accounting
*Proficient in Excel and actuarial tools (e.g. SAS, Python, VBA)
*Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage competing deadlines
*Clear communicator who can translate technical insights into business value
Location - Ipswich (40-60% in the office)
