Job Description:
We are recruiting a HGV 2 driver to join a small, experienced team working for a worldwide distribution client based in Southampton.
This is a great opportunity to join a leading wholesale provider with excellent opportunities to progress.
Duties
*Working 40hrs per week Monday-Friday with 1x weekend day every other week with a day off midweek in lieu
*Start time will be 4/5am
*Completing between 4-6 local pallet drops per day
*Load and unload cargo, ensuring that goods are secured properly for transport
*Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition
*Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by the company
*Assisting with basic loading and unloading
*On occasion you may be required to drive 3.5t vehicles but paid at the same rate.
Requirements
*Valid commercial driving licence (C+E or equivalent) with no more than 3 points on a Full UK driving licence.
*Proven experience as an HGV driver.
*Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo.
*Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
*Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with team members and clients.
This role is 12-week temporary-permanent for the right candidate and there is parking on site and a discount on produce.
