Job Description:
Teqniq is searching for a Disposal Surveyor to work in the public sector.
37 hours per week.
4 month contract

Job Description:
To lead and manage the disposal of surplus authority property assets in a way that maximises capital receipts, supports the authority’s priorities and ensures compliance with statutory duties. The role balances commercial awareness with public sector accountability, ensuring that disposals deliver best consideration and strategic outcomes for the authority.
Responsibilities:
Disposal Programme Delivery • Manage a varied caseload of freehold disposals from inception to completion.
Prepare disposal strategies, valuation advice and recommendations for decision-makers.
Undertake disposal recommendation summaries to determine the most appropriate disposal route.
Work in collaboration with retained property agents in support of delivering disposal outcomes.
Lead negotiations with purchasers, developers and their agents to secure best consideration.
Liaise with internal services, elected members, community groups and external partners to ensure disposals align with corporate priorities.
Manage sensitive or contentious disposals with diplomacy and political awareness.
Provide clear, professional advice to senior officers and members on risks, opportunities and implications.
Undertake inspections and due diligence in accordance with RICS standards.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of property law, valuation practice, planning policy and market trends.
Represent the authority professionally in negotiations, meetings and public consultations.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Essential
RICS qualification (MRICS/FRICS).
Experience in property disposals, valuation and estates management.
Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness.
Understanding of public sector governance, transparency requirements and statutory duties.
Ability to interpret legal documents, title plans and planning policy.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Desirable
Experience in local government or another regulated public sector environment.
Knowledge of development viability and regeneration.
