Here at GXO we are looking for Transport Planning Manager to join our busy Halfords site in Coventry. This is a highly customer focussed role responsible for the strategic formulation of the transport plan, effectively scheduling a dedicated fleet for the Halfords network.
This is a full time, permanent position, you will be working Monday to Friday, 0800 – 16:00. However some flexibility is essential, this is logistics after all!


Pay, benefits and more:


You’ll be paid a salary of up to £36,000 per annum. You’ll also receive 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days so you can enjoy a positive work-life balance. What you’ll do on a typical day:


*Creation, execution and monitoring of the daily traffic schedule & creation of strategic schedules maximising GXO’s service offering, revenue and profitability whilst ensuring all legal constraints are adhered to
*Incorporating resource planning (drivers/fleet) into the daily plan and working close with the operations team
*Working closely with the customer to drive scheduling efficiencies both from store changes & vehicle utilisation
*Understanding and achieving specific targets regarding vehicle utilisation for core vehicles
*Liaising with key customer stakeholders to ensure that operational requirements, KPI’s and customer service are delivered on a consistent basis
*Point of contact for all strategic planning schedules created with the customer and driving efficiencies within the operation
*Ensuring all activities are carried out in a safe and compliant manner in line with company and legislative requirements


What you need to succeed at GXO:


*Previous experience working with planning teams and transport operations
*Advanced knowledge and experience using Paragon Routing systems
*You will have a proactive and committed approach towards all aspects of the job and ensure high standards in health and safety; customer service and legal compliance are met and exceeded
*Strong commercial awareness and understanding of financial information
*Customer focused and able to deliver and exceed customer expectations
*Excellent communication, interpersonal and people management skills
