Randstad are delighted to be working alongside a renowned university based in East London who are recruiting for an Energy & Sustainability Manager to join their Estates and Facilities team to drive their energy and carbon-reduction strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
*Lead the development, implementation, and compliance of the Energy and Carbon Management Policy and Plan, aligning it with the University’s Vision and sustainability goals.
*Act as the primary contact for energy and water management, including managing utility contracts, budgets, and commercial aspects of the Energy Performance Contract.
*Identify and implement innovative energy/water reduction projects and new technologies.
*Oversee the Building Management System (BMS) and project manage the installation of a comprehensive sub-metering system.
*Collaborate with engineering teams to embed energy-saving criteria in all capital projects.
*Develop initiatives with the Sustainability Team to raise energy and environmental awareness.
Essential Qualifications:
*Degree in a related field (e.g., Engineering, Energy Management).
*Experience in an energy management role, preferably in a senior position within the public/further education sector.
*Expert knowledge of utility systems, integration into BMS, energy/water legislation, and compliance.
*Experience in managing utility contracts, budgeting, forecasting, and procurement strategies.
