Geotechnical Design Engineer

Salary: £30,000 to £38,000.
An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a Geotechnical Design Engineer to join a fast-growing engineering consultancy based in York. This is a great chance to contribute to geotechnical design projects in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment, with ongoing support from a team of specialists.
The successful Geotechnical Design Engineer will play a key role in team management, project delivery, and technical excellence. As Geotechnical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
*Working on the geotechnical team and managing project workloads
*Identifying geotechnical risks and proposing effective mitigation strategies
*Delivering concept and detailed design work including foundation design, slope stability and retaining walls.
*Producing high-quality technical reports including Ground Investigation and Geotechnical Design Reports
*Mentoring junior staff
*Supporting colleagues across other offices as part of a wider geotechnical team

To succeed in this Geotechnical Design Engineer role, you should have:
*Design experience within civil or geotechnical engineering consultancy
*Have or be working towards chartered status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (or equivalent)
*Familiarity with geotechnical design software, AutoCAD, and MS Office
*Experience in rail projects (preferred but not essential)
*Relevant experience in areas such as slope stability, foundation design, earthworks, soil nails, retaining structures, and pile design
*Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
*Clean UK driving licence
*Live in or near to York
