Senior Regulatory Consultant (Contract)
Payments | MTFs | Derivatives | UK & EEA
London / Frankfurt / Munich (Hybrid)
6-9 Month Contract
A leading global financial markets business is looking to appoint a Senior Regulatory Consultant to support a high-profile regulatory change programme across payments, electronic trading venues, and derivatives products.
This is a senior advisory delivery role, sitting at the intersection of regulatory strategy, product governance, compliance design, and launch readiness. The successful consultant will play a key role in shaping and implementing the regulatory and control framework for several strategically important UK and EEA market initiatives.
Key focus areas will include:
*Payment services regulatory framework across the UK and EEA
*MTF governance, permissions, and operating model design
*Derivatives and RFQ trading model oversight
*Regulatory perimeter analysis and permissions planning
*FCA / NCA engagement and approvals support
*Policy, procedure, and control framework design
*Rulebooks, participant documentation, and governance packs
*Surveillance, reporting, and implementation readiness
This role will suit someone who has operated at a senior level across UK / EU regulatory advisory, markets compliance, or regulatory transformation, particularly within electronic trading, market structure, payments, or capital markets environments.
Key experience required:
*Strong UK and EU regulatory expertise across payments, MiFID II / MiFIR, MTFs, and derivatives
*Experience advising on regulatory permissions, perimeter assessments, and launch approvals
*Proven background drafting or reviewing rulebooks, policies, controls, and participant documentation
*Strong understanding of market conduct, transaction reporting, best execution, and operational resilience
*Experience working across business, legal, compliance, operations, and technology stakeholders
*Ability to lead complex regulatory workstreams through to implementation and go-live
Strong preference for candidates who have supported product launches, venue changes, or regulatory approval activity within global markets or trading infrastructure environments.
