Job Title: Children’s Support Worker - Secure Unit
Location: Peterborough
Salary: £18.00 - £19.00 per hour
About the Role:
We are currently recruiting experienced and resilient Children’s Support Workers to join a secure unit in Peterborough. This is a highly rewarding role supporting vulnerable children and young people with complex needs in a structured and secure environment. You will play a key role in promoting safety, stability, and positive behavioural outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide high-quality care and supervision within a secure setting
*Support children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs
*Safely manage challenging behaviours in line with training and policies
*Build professional, trusting relationships with young people
*Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver care plans
*Maintain accurate records and reports
Requirements:
*Minimum of 6 months’ UK experience working with children or young people
*Valid restraint training (e.g. MAPA, CPI, or equivalent) - essential
*Strong communication and de-escalation skills
*Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging situations
*Flexible to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
Desirable (but not essential):
*Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
*Relevant qualification in Health & Social Care or Childcare
