1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Nursery Setting)
Location: Burton upon Trent
Hours: Tuesday & Thursday, 8:45am - 1:00pm (term time only)
Contract: Via The Supply Register
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child within a nursery provision at a welcoming primary school in Burton upon Trent.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference, providing tailored support to a child with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The child is non-verbal and has no awareness of danger, so ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times is essential.
Key Responsibilities:*Provide consistent, high-quality 1:1 support
*Maintain a safe and nurturing environment at all times
*Support communication using appropriate strategies (e.g. visual aids, PECS, Makaton)
*Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
*Deliver engaging, play-based learning in line with the EYFS framework
*Support with personal care if required
The Ideal Candidate Will:*Have experience working with children with complex SEND, ideally in an early years setting
*Demonstrate strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
*Be confident, calm, and proactive
*Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child safety
*Be patient, nurturing, and committed
