SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Stockport, SK5
Contract: Short-term / Long-term, Temporary
Pay: £92 – £100 per day
A friendly and inclusive primary school in the Stockport (SK5) area is looking for a committed Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school is proud of its nurturing environment, where every child is supported to grow in confidence, reach their potential, and engage fully in their learning journey.
In this role, you will provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with a variety of additional needs, helping them progress academically, socially, and emotionally. You will work alongside class teachers and the school’s SEN team to deliver structured, personalised assistance tailored to each child.
SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
*Assist the class teacher with daily lessons and classroom activities.
*Offer individual or small-group support to reinforce understanding.
*Deliver focused 1:1 support for pupils with SEND/SEMH, following personalised plans.
*Help prepare learning materials and organise classroom resources.
*Promote positive behaviour, routines, and emotional development.
*Contribute to observations, assessments, and essential record keeping.
*Supervise pupils during breaks, activities, and school trips when required.
*Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
*Always uphold safeguarding and child protection policies.
SEN Teaching Assistant Key Requirements:
*Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or an equivalent).
*Strong communication skills, with GCSEs in English and Maths (grade C/4 or above).
*Experience supporting children in an educational or SEN context.
*Solid understanding of safeguarding, SEND, and SEMH needs.
