Job Description:
Waste Management Officer
Location: Buntingford
Hours: Full-time (37 hours/week)
Duration: 2 month initial contract
Pay rate: £13.50 per hour
We are delighted to be supporting our client in the recruitment process of a ’Waste Management Officer’ on a full-time, temporary basis!
Purpose of the role:
The post holder will play a vital role in the successful delivery of the waste and recycling services for residents in both East and North Hertfordshire.
You will be engaging with residents to assist with queries on our waste and recycling services and support the delivery and collection of containers as required.
You will undertake performance and asset monitoring for Refuse and Recycling collections, street cleansing, and other service requirements to ensure residents are receiving an excellent service.
Accountabilities:
*Check agreed standards and perform inspections of work, in line with guidance/ code of practice, carried out by various contractors.
*Undertake inspections of assets and undertake local environmental quality surveys such as cleanliness and bin condition.
*Complete administrative functions associated with various waste management IT systems including recording appropriate data for the Contract Manager.
*Undertake door to door surveys and refuse/recycling audits.
*Provide advice and information to the public and other organisations on waste, recycling, and street cleansing.
Experience you will bring:
*Good keyboard skills and use of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office programmes.
*Basic knowledge of waste management functions.
*Basic understanding of health & safety at wok.
*Experience of working with contractors.
