Head of Professional Standards
Hybrid - 2 days London office
£63,000
A respected professional membership body is looking for an experienced Head of Professional Standards to lead its standards, ethics, and governance agenda.
This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll shape policy, influence external stakeholders, and ensure the integrity of professional standards in a rapidly evolving landscape.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead policy engagement with government, regulators, and external stakeholders
- Oversee and evolve professional standards, codes of conduct, and ethical frameworks
- Act as Secretary and lead support for the Professional Standards Committee
- Contribute to wider committee activity, governance, and events
- Provide strategic insight on emerging issues, including AI and digital transformation
Experience required:
- Significant senior experience in standards, ethics, regulatory or compliance roles
- Background in a professional body, regulator, legal, financial or similar environment
- Strong understanding of governance and professional conduct frameworks
- Proven ability to influence at senior level and translate strategy into action
- Analytical mindset with sound judgement and high integrity
Desirable:
- Experience managing a small team
- Experience developing competency frameworks

- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A collaborative, resilient, and adaptable approach
Additional details:
- Degree or equivalent experience required
- Occasional travel and some out-of-hours work may be needed
