Reed Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be supporting an established and growing organisation based in Coventry who are looking to appoint an Assistant Management Accountant on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA professional who is looking to take on a broad and hands-on role within a supportive finance team.
The Role
Working closely with the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will play a key part in delivering accurate and timely financial information. This position offers exposure across month-end, reporting, analysis, and core transactional processes. The role is varied, and well suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Assisting with the preparation of month-end management accounts
*Completing bank reconciliations
*Preparing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with reverse charge VAT requirements
*Processing journals including accruals, prepayments, and intercompany recharges
*Processing and coding subcontractor applications and purchase ledger invoices
*Managing weekly and monthly subcontractor payment runs
*Preparing and submitting monthly CIS returns and issuing Statements of Deductions
*Reconciling subcontractor statements
*Processing monthly PAYE and CIS payments
*Monitoring project expenditure including materials, labour, and cost variances
*Maintaining the fixed asset register and calculating depreciation
*Supporting payroll processes
*Carrying out monthly variance analysis for project teams
*Assisting with cashflow forecasting and working project capital reporting
*Contributing to annual budgeting and forecasting cycles
*Supporting the year-end audit with required information
About You
*Ideally CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified or part-qualified
*EXCEL (Advanced) knowledge
*XERO knowledge (Desirable)
*System Change/Implementation (Desirable)
*Strong experience in a management accounts or assistant management accountant role
*Confident analysing financial data and explaining variances
*Comfortable working across both reporting and transactional duties
*Strong attention to detail and able to work to deadlines
