We are seeking a dedicated individual to join a welcoming primary school in Burgess Hill, supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference while gaining valuable experience in a supportive school environment.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), SEN Support Worker, or those looking to start a career in education.
Key Responsibilities*Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
*Work with children with autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH
*Assist in delivering targeted interventions and personalised learning support
*Work closely with the SENCo and class teachers to implement EHCP targets
*Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
*Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Requirements*Experience working with children or young people (school or care setting desirable)
*A strong interest in SEN and inclusive education
*Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
*Good communication and teamwork skills
*Ability to take initiative and follow guidance from teaching staff
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable*Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs
*Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification)
*Experience in a primary school setting
