Role: Transport Shift Manager (10:00 - 18:00 / Monday - Friday)

We’re looking for a confident and capable Transport Shift Manager to take ownership of our daytime operation in Glasgow. This is a people-first role where strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills are more important than formal qualifications.


The Role

You’ll be responsible for overseeing the smooth running of a busy transport operation during the 10:00 - 18:00 shift. With a fleet of around 80 vehicles and a team of approximately 120 drivers and mates, your focus will be on ensuring efficiency, maintaining high service standards, and supporting your team to perform at their best.


Key Responsibilities
*Lead, motivate, and manage drivers and driver’s mates on shift
*Ensure all routes are executed efficiently and on schedule
*Act as the first point of contact for operational issues and problem-solving
*Maintain clear communication between drivers, warehouse, and planning teams
*Monitor performance and address any conduct or service issues
*Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork

*Proven experience in a transport or logistics environment

Key Experiences
*Proven experience within a Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain environment (ideally as a Transport Shift Manager)
*Strong people management skills - able to lead, coach, and challenge where needed
*Calm under pressure with a solutions-focused mindset
*Highly organised with good attention to detail
*Confident communicator who can build trust across teams
